Do you love your homeowner's insurance carrier?
Most people do. You're either neutral or you have a good relationship with your insurance agent, or are otherwise happy with your insurance company. Maybe they're been very supportive and have taken care of you very well.
In Colorado Springs or the surrounding areas?
Now you might have
hail damage.
Is having your exterior / roofing contractor present with you for your Insurance Adjuster meeting important?
If you took the initiative to call your homeowner's insurance company to discuss possible hail damage before you called your roofer or were approached by one, chances are pretty good that they told you to let the adjuster take a look at it first, and then go from there, right?
Why is it vital to have your roofer and exterior contractor present for the adjuster meeting?
One of our customers, Mary in Security-Widefield, had her adjuster out before we stepped in to help.
Fortunately for Mary, the adjuster approved the replacement of her roof. Unfortunately for Mary, there was sufficient hail damage over the rest of the house that if a professional was present to meet with the adjuster on her behalf, the insurance company would have also given her money for the exterior paint, gutters, her deck, and fence.
But it was
too late to include those other repairs with her claim without having to file a
new claim with a new deductible!
Another one of our customers, Scott in Colorado Springs, took his insurance company's advice to keep a roofer out of it until the adjuster had a look. When the adjuster came out to Scott's property, he told Scott that only a small section of his roof was damaged enough to warrant coverage, and that the hail damage over the rest of it was from a previous storm and was too old.
When we arrived, our estimator was able to assess that the hail damage from all from the last storm, and it ended up being a hassle to go back and forth with the insurance company about setting up a new adjuster meeting with us present.
Fortunately for Scott, we were able to get the entire roof approved once we were present for the second meeting, but it should have happened this way in the first place--if only Scott had called us first.
What to do if you suspect you have hail damage?
Call us first.
Before you even deal with your insurance company, we'll make everything easier for you by first coming out and looking over the roof, etc., to determine whether or not there was even enough damage worth making a claim over. Other than being home for 20 minutes or so to let us look at the roof, that's no skin off your back--an inspection is totally
free.
If there is sufficient damage, we'll guide you through the entire process.
And most importantly, we'll be there during the adjuster meeting to make sure you have good representation and achieve the best adjustment possible.
Give us a call today if you suspect you might have hail damage. If you've already called your insurance company, and the adjuster will be coming out soon, call us right away so that we have time to help you!
