Holy cow, Colorado Springs!
Last night we had some of the largest and most devastating hail I've seen in years!
If you've been driving around today in a car untouched by the hail, staring in awe at vehicles with nearly-destroyed windshields and covered in dents, you might not have even been aware that we were hit with a hail storm last night that swept across Barnes all the way to Marksheffel, up and down Powers, and out east.
Tennis-ball sized hail! Amazing and terrible. It's the kind of hail that totals cars. The kind of hail that can cause serious injury. We've heard about cars that have been totaled because all of the glass was blown out, and the roof, body, doors, fenders ... obliterated. We've seen the devastation of trees knocked down and destroying property. Windows and sky lights destroyed. Siding that looks like it was attacked by a machine gun.
And we're supposed to get another big storm tonight! Park under protection if you can!
Well ... it's that big storm we've been dreading. Prepare to deal with all of the storm chasers.
Keep in mind that making an insurance claim for a storm this big might also take care of your paint and other exterior aspects of your house that you might not think would normally be covered by insurance. Make sure to have a contractor who is capable of taking care of everything inspect for damage for you.
Most roofers just take care of the roof, or maybe the roof and gutters.

Also, remember that while your insurance agent might be your buddy, your insurance adjuster is not. The insurance adjuster's job is to save the insurance company as much money as possible. And if the can figure out a way to take advantage of you and avoid approving parts of your claim, if you don't know any better, they totally will.
Before you call your insurance company, have us come out to see if there's even enough damage to make it worth making a claim. We'll guide you through the entire process, and represent you when your insurance company sends an adjuster out to approve or deny the claim. We'll work hard to get you the most proceeds as possible to repair the damage.
