Winter in Colorado Springs
Here we are. Winter is coming. Cue the next "Game of Thrones" meme joke, right? Nah--we did that last year.
If you've been meaning to have your house painted this year, now that it's after Thanksgiving and we're going into the colder months, it's too late ... right??
Not exactly. :)
People don't really consider painting over the winter. It's generally assumed that once the snow starts falling, you'll have to wait until next spring to get that project done! In actuality, we paint year-round. When it comes to modern paint and equipment from premium brands like Sherwin Williams, PPG, and others used by Front Range Exteriors, exterior paint technology these days is fascinating.
As long as the exterior temperature is 35 degrees or higher, your home can be painted with the right products and the paint can cure very well in the cold.
If you're curious about still getting a free estimate for the exterior painting of your home during this winter, please give us a call. Heck--you might even find yourself a great deal because of our seasonal discounts!
Truth is, we have plenty of decent weather over the winter in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. Most of the time, our winters may be brisk, but they're also clear and sunny. There are snowstorms here and there, and of course there's no (exterior) painting getting done then, but as long as we can find a couple of days of clear weather with an air temperature of at least 35 degrees, we can paint your house.
What Else Can Be Done in the Winter?
At Front Range Exteriors, we do more than just exterior paint. If you have other projects you've been meaning to get around to, we can help with many home renovations:
- Exterior and Interior Painting and Staining
- Siding, trim, and other wood repair and replacement
- Full Stucco-Over-Siding
- Stucco Restoration of old, cracked and discolored concrete-based stucco
- Replacement Windows and Doors
- This is a BIG ONE for the Winter! It's a great time to replace your draftiest old windows and save on your heating bill! All of our products are Energy Star rated, and you might find yourself eligible for tax credits.
- Roof Repair and Replacement (also possible in the winter on clear days)
- Gutter Replacement (are your gutters old and clogged? Might cause some ice and leaking problems over the winter.)
- Garage Door Replacement
- Another major thing you can do to save on your heating bill! If you still have one of those old Masonite wooden garage doors, we can replace that noisy, heavy, drafty thing with something modern, light, and energy-efficient, and it'll cost a lot less than you may think!
- Skylights
- Just like replacement windows, new, modern skylights will make a big difference in the amount of heat you'll lose over the winter.
- James Hardie or Vinyl Siding
You don't need to wait until Springtime!
Stop the rotting and damage to your house now before the winter weather makes it worse!
